St George's Day - 23rd April 2017
St George's Day was marked in the church by a parade and special all ages service, which included the scouts and Beavers renewing their pledges. This photograph with the scouts and Beavers was taken to commemorate the event.
VENERABLE DAVID FLEMING - 9TH OCTOBER 2016
Many thanks to Venerable David Fleming who presided over his last service of this interregnum on Sunday 9th October. We were able to thank both him and Elizabeth his wife once again with a presentation. Last year at the end of a very trying Flower Festival, when the marquees were battered by the strong winds, David presented us with with medals that he and Elizabeth had made to commemorate everybody's valiant efforts - the Order of the Rennie (or wind). This time we were able to return the compliment and presented him with his own medal for much appreciated dedication and service to the church and to our community. We are very grateful to him and send our very best wishes to both of them.
CANON JOHN WICKSTEAD - 2ND OCTOBER 2016
Many thanks to Canon John Wickstead who presided over his last service of this interregnum on Sunday 2nd October. John has been an enormous help over the last months taking the services in the church on the first Sunday of the month. At the end of the service a presentation to both him and his wife Alison. A great friend of our church we are very grateful to him and send our very best wishes to both of them.
JANUARY 2015
REVEREND NEIL BATCOCK
On Sunday 25th January we said goodbye to our Parish Priest - Fr Neil Batcock. Although Neil had only been with us for a relatively short period, he made a substantial contribution to our parish and church life. Further words and tributes are planned in this space but in the meantime we are very grateful to him and we wish both Neil and Kathryn a very long, happy and fulfilling retirement.
VENERABLE DAVID FLEMING
The Churchwardens, PCC Members and members of our church community would like to express our sincere thanks to David Fleming, for looking after us so brilliantly during our lengthy period of Interregnum from 2011 to 2013. We are all extremely grateful to him for his wisdom and kindness shown during this period. We now very much look forward to welcoming him back once again to help us as we go through a further period of priest vacancy.
